ABOUT ME
"A Lifetime of Service, A Heart for the People"
I come from a proud family of service people who believed that when you see a problem in your community, you don’t just talk about it, you step up and do something about it. That same belief has guided me throughout my life, from 27 years in the U.S. Navy, to the classroom mentoring young leaders, to serving as a City Councilman and Acting Mayor for Locust Grove.
I’m running because I want to continue serving you, the people of Georgia House District 117. Our communities deserve living-wage jobs that can sustain families, schools that prepare our children for the future, and safe neighborhoods where every resident feels protected and valued. With nearly a decade of government leadership experience, I’ve learned how to navigate the challenges of public service, finding real solutions, cutting through red tape, and getting things done. I understand that progress doesn’t come from partisanship; it comes from purpose, partnership, and putting people first.
Together, we can build a Georgia that honors hard work, protects our families, and ensures opportunity for everyone.
The People First Agenda
Veterans
As a 27-year Navy veteran, I know the challenges our service members face when they return home. Too many veterans in Henry County and across Georgia struggle with access to healthcare, affordable housing, and good-paying jobs.
* I will fight to expand mental and physical health services, bring more clinics and resources to underserved areas, and create new workforce training programs that help veterans transition into careers in logistics, construction, IT, and public safety fields that are already strong in our district.
* I will also work to provide greater support for military families, from property tax relief for disabled veterans to school-based programs that support military children when their parents are deployed or relocated.
Education
Education is the key to opportunity, and every child in District 117 deserves a fair chance of succeeding. Our schools are under pressure from rapid growth, and our teachers are being asked to do more with less.
* I will work to fully fund Georgia Schools so that schools serving low-income students, English learners, and students with disabilities receive the resources they need.
* I will also fight to raise teacher pay and tie salaries to the cost of living, ensuring Henry County schools can recruit and retain the best educators. At the same time,
* I will push to expand free, state-funded Pre-K so every family has access to early learning, reduce the burden of childcare, and make sure classrooms are focused on student growth, not just test scores.
Economic Development
Families in Henry County should not have to choose between paying the bills and caring for their loved ones. Too many are stretched thin by the rising costs of childcare, healthcare, and housing. As a small business owner, I know the pressures facing both families and employers.
*I will fight to expand access to affordable childcare, create incentives for affordable workforce housing, and strengthen family protections like paid leave and fair wages to give working families more stability.
* I will fight for Small Business Tax Credits:
Provide tax incentives for small businesses that offer fair wages, healthcare benefits, and demonstrate sustainable and environmentally responsible practices.
*Encourage state agencies to work with disadvantaged businesses and provide resources to help them compete on a level playing field.
* I will push for state investment in good-paying jobs that fit our community, especially in logistics, advanced manufacturing, and technology.
